Most Boards do not have regular interactions, often meeting monthly or quarterly. There is little opportunity to form trusting relationships which helps to facilitate effective decision making. Facet5 has a unique ability to expedite the ‘getting to know one another’ stage.

Facet5 Teamscape allows an independent and meaningful comparison of Board and Executive team members, identifying the natural style of each team member, highlighting what they naturally contribute and those areas that may make them less effective.

It brings to life the dynamics within the team in the following ways:

  • null
Generating Ideas – how will they generate options and alternatives to a problem or opportunity?
  • null
Evaluation – how will they evaluate those ideas? Will they encourage a radical new approach or play it safe and risk free?
  • null
Decision Making – how will they make decisions? Will they decide quickly and take charge or approach it carefully and take their time?
  • null
Implementation – finally, how will they go about implementing the decisions? Will they jump in and learn through trial and error or create a plan and take a considered approach?

Second Mile Consulting will deliver this awareness through a half-day Board away-day in consultation with the organisation. This will include an opportunity for the collective Board or Executive Committee to explore what makes them great and to identify and discuss openly things that may be holding the team back as well as:

null

Tactics

How the delivery of the work is likely to be managed, rule free or rule conscious?

null

Proportionality

Likelihood of under-reacting or over-reacting to stress and pressure.

null

Response

How the team is likely to respond to discord and conflict.

By collectively gaining an understanding of each Board member’s preferences, we gain insight into what is said, and not being said, in the Boardroom. Second Mile Consulting can run this alongside a Board Evaluation, and for Financial Services Firms we do this in partnership with BP&E Global.
